Other than the Thales booth, which showcased the TopDeck avionics suite, our Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) credentials and the latest progress achieved on the SESAR (Single European Sky Air traffic management Research) programme, Thales experts also featured heavily in the programme of technical conferences.
Marc Gatti, Technical Director of Thales’s Computers competence centre, led two sessions in conjunction with two postgraduate students who are currently in his team, Antoine Canu and Hicham Agrou. The first keynote was dedicated to reconfigurable avionics interfaces, while the other focused on improving the determinism of multi-core processors to meet avionics needs.
Marc Gatti also chaired a conference about innovation when developing certification, with Senior Expert Marc Fumey on hand to discuss the shift from Integrated Modular Avionics to Extended Integrated Modular Avionics.
The show also provided the opportunity to meet players from the aeronautical industry, airlines and suppliers. The next event is scheduled for February 2013.
Avionics Europe is a European event that brings together experts and policy makers from the worlds of avionics and defence. At the exhibition and conferences, the event welcomes scientists, engineers, certification specialists (etc.), from the main European avionics manufacturers, software and hardware components suppliers, integrators, airlines, operators, etc.
