ATR-600: ATR selects Thales for the next steps

ATR and Thales strengthened their partnership today in the signature of an agreement for the common incremental development of the avionics systems for the ATR-600.

The cockpit of the ATR-600 will be enhanced with new functionalities providing reduction of decision heights (DH) for landings, particularly useful when airports are not equipped with Instrument Landing Systems (ILS).

The aircraft will also be fitted with precision approach capacities (RNP AR 0.3/0.3) which, through improved visibility, will facilitate the pilot’s mission and the landing phase.

These new functionalities will be available as of 2017.

We are particularly proud that ATR has reinforced our partnership and has shown such confidence in our systems and technologies. The current ATR-600 avionics systems are recognised by customers for their remarkable reliability and performance. Today, we want to pursue our efforts within the framework of our product policy to provide even greater functionalities to the operators of this aircraft.
