New mandatory Traffic Collision Avoidance System software now available

Jun 25. 2012

In a constant move to improve safety, EASA has recently made mandatory a new TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) software version.

Starting now and no later than December 1st 2015, all aircraft with a capacity that exceeds 19 passengers and flying in European airspace will have to be equipped with a TCAS running the latest “Change 7.1” software. Thales Avionics is now offering all its customers a complete range of Change 7.1-compliant surveillance equipment. The TCASII and T2CAS equipment can be upgraded through easy software updates. The TCAS2000 and TCAS3000 are available as new items of equipment or can be upgraded via a software update. The latest T3CAS equipment offers the change 7.1 as a basic feature.
