Making sense of chaos - Untangling UAS regulations

Close your eyes and imagine a world where drones are zooming around our skies, flying long distance autonomously (which is called “Beyond Visual Line of Sight” - BVLOS), delivering packages, rushing blood samples and medicines, or inspecting infrastructure. What do you see? The likely answer is chaos. Now close your eyes again and imagine the same world where regulations have been implemented for everyone to– drone operators, dedicated Service Providers, Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP), local authorities. What do you see now? Probably a bit fewer drones than anticipated, but they are flying safely and in a well-orchestrated manner.
